I showed up, the ticket person scanned the QR code that had been sent to my phone, I got a Hillshire cracker and salami tray and a regular drink ($13), and I sat down in my reserved seat 20 minutes before the show, having lost no time at any stage. Well, I should say reserved recliner. There was a ton of space between me and the people surrounding me thanks to the generous armrests, and because the seats rise in successive balconies of a sort with short walls in between, I couldn't see anyone in front of me (see picture for an idea). No distraction from a seat kicker or someone with a bright screen was possible here. Everything about the experience was as comfortable as could be. My only complaint is that there was nowhere good to put my bag so that it would be out of the way. Maybe put hooks on the small walls?
I went to see a movie after dinner with the wife. It was something we have not done in 6 years (the movie that is)... Our daughter, 4, was already asleep, so we held her in our arms at all time, yet the ticket price we had to pay was full price. No quarter price, no half price, but full price. Tell me again, why should I not watch pirated movies? Gum stuck on the chair in front of me, floors dirty and the sound, not quite the best quality. This experience will keep me away for another six years
When the standard showing for a film is now $12 plus the outrageous prices for food and drinks, there is no more point in going to the theater. If they honestly believe that partially reclining reserved seats will save them, they never knew the issue in the first place. I used to see all the blockbusters, but less and less is that the case. Its a movie folks, it will come out and you can view it on your big screen at home with surround sound as many times as you like without paying ~$30/person to do so.
I don't see movies very often, but recently decided I needed a treat and bought a ticket for Thor: Ragnarok in Dolby Cinema at AMC. The ticket was $21, but I enjoyed the ease of picking a reserved seat online and knowing that I didn't have to wait in line for this opening Thursday night showing.
All in all, taking myself out on a much-needed date cost $34. Was it expensive? Yes. Did I feel like it was worth it and that I got my money's worth? I hope you realize by this point in the review that that is also yes. It was a convenient and comfortable way to enjoy a fantastic movie. I highly recommend Dolby Cinema at AMC.
Nice theater with soft comfortable seating and decent prices on tickets. Just don't plan on buying snacks or drinks here because it's overly priced.
As for the quality of the Dolby Cinema, I prefer it a great deal over 3D or IMAX. It doesn't tire the eyes like either of those, but the screen is still huge and the picture and audio quality really is excellent. As I'm not a "movie person" I didn't think I'd notice, but I really did. The movie was gorgeous and all those colors stood out wonderfully. I will honestly have a hard time watching standard movies after this.
The movie theaters are very unclean the managers are very unprofessional I believe his name was David I bought my tickets from him he gave me a really bad attitude and I would try to respond nicely and he will give me more bad attitude. Hopefully someone can reprimand him Because I feel I don’t want someone has a really bad attitude around other people
