Quality was great, though, we sampled when we got home. Super fresh, warm breads and pastries. Yummy!!
Also, the bakery makes their famous loaves of bread in their Tukwila location and delivers it to this location a few times a week... Once they sell out of their breads they won't have more until the next delivery. That's inconvenient. It's too bad they don't have the facilities to make fresh loaves of bread daily.
A pretty great selection of fresh breads and pastries! The lines were long so don't go here anytime soon if you're in a hurry. Not sure if it's because they just opened, or if this is typical of how the bakery runs at other locations, but seemed a little inefficient... Wait in line to get in, then walk the perimeter (still in a line) along the pastry shelves to put pastries on tray... Super slow... Then when you finally get up to the cashier they individually bag each of your pastries and put these individually wrapped pastries in a larger box, which is put in yet another bag. A bit wasteful, all the bags and boxes... Time-wise, it took just over an hour from the time we parked. Might be faster to allow customers to bag their pastries initially so things can move quicker at the checkout counter (or better yet, skip the individual pastry bags altogether and just use the larger pastry boxes).
Pastries are far and few between... They keep restocking the same pastries over & over...
Also the strawberry slush is nearly flavorless.
The store has 3 cash registers, but with the drink menu items and some of the cake items not available until when you're paying at the end, it makes checking out significantly slower, thus leading to the long wait that many complain about.
Since all their pastries are placed in bins for you to peruse, they are all cold and you're never quite sure how long they've been there. The flavor is good but not exceptional, and the prices are super high.
This location is still pretty new so keeping that in mind. But the line is pretty intense at noon. The biggest issue is probably at the checkout. There are 3 checkout counters but only 2 people operating them. It's also not environmentally friendly since they package each bread separately in small plastic bags. They are hiring, but they definitely need a third person and more if the crowds stay the same. The food however is a good price and taste good.
Just opened... The queue is a challenge... From time of entry to end point (cashier) - It may take 30 - 45 min...
Not sure why all the hype. While the idea and presentation would suggest a high end experience, the reality is far different.
Dear Management of 85C, please provide a variety of pastries to make that trip/drive up and dealing with that infamous 45 min queue worth it.
As other reviews pointed out, the labels and placements for the bread are fairly disorganized, and it's fairly difficult to figure out what they have exactly.
The store could do well moving the drink / specialty items out into a separate check out or self-service kiosk ordering (fulfilled by other employees) to improve the overall check-out speed.
I'd rate the food as 5 stars, but 3 stars for how the store operates. Compared to the locations in California, the selection is far less but the quality is still great.
I see what they are trying to do but I think the execution is off.
