Our first experience with Korean BBQ was interesting and enjoyable thanks to the patient friendly staff at SuRa. First and foremost - they welcome first timers, questions and helping novices get familiar with how the process works (its not complicated, I figured it out... LOL).

They took the time to start things on the grill, and checked in with us frequently to make sure we had what we needed and refill the side dishes you like (kimchi, marinated fish cake, potato, sprouts, etc).
After taking our order, they delivered the many side dishes that are part of the dinner combo (which is an excellent "first timer" choice). It includes a variety of meats to grill so you can sample all the options. We also ordered some dumplings to enjoy while waiting for the main event. YUM!
Came here after a hike and it was soooo good. We got the combination B, which comes with chicken, pork belly, brisket, and bulgogi, as well as all of the banchan (and there were a lot more sides than I normally see at Korean BBQ!). We also got a japchae appetizer. The japchae was delicious and amazing and was a huge portion. The meat in the combination was cooked to perfection in front of us, and either not marinated at all or very lightly marinated, which was great because it didn't make you feel greasy after eating it. For two people, even after a hike, this was more than enough food. Highly recommended!

Avoid this place. the waitresses are rude and unwelcoming especially if you are not Korean. I was very grossed from how treated customers. I suggest you avoid this place.
We went in for an early dinner (4PM on Saturday). It was actually busier than we expected at that hour... not full, of course. But there were about half a dozen parties - and when we were leaving the restaurant was getting full with families and couples. So it's clearly a popular and well liked dining choice.
Quality meats. Their marinate is pretty good, and their chadol (thin sliced beef) has been on a higher level lately. 4 stars because it's still sometimes not as good. But their banchan (small side dishes) are really good. The kinchee tastes homemade.
