There really is nothing that can replace a real book. I am grateful for the few bookstores that are surviving this brutal environment for retail businesses where one can sit down and enjoy a coffee while picking up the next book on their to-do list. The staff is always helpful and informative here and I always feel welcome and happy to come to this bookstore. Support your local bookstores and your local businesses. This place reminds me why sometimes it is well worth the little bit of extra effort to drive to a nearby shop and spend some time around real people.
I have been a customer of B&N for decades. I live to read and have since I was in 7th grade. I Really like to go to B&N for recommendations and to find new authors. The place is Really going down hill though. Great staff but corporate is ruining the stores. No chairs, so I guess I'm not supposed to sample books and decide what I want to buy? The bags that had New Books and recommendations are gone, I might as well just wander around. Staff is great and the only reason I keep coming back. Why pay more for a book for no reason. I'm willing to pay more, if the store is a nice place to go and spend time at. I'm very frustrated.
Nice book store with lots of options. The kid area is fun with toys and tables to sit at. Also has a nice coffee shop.
They decided to cut their selection of moleskines and spread them out on the bottom shelf of three bookcases making it impossible to compare them and decide what to get. Their response was that they could show me where it's at (my complaint wasn't that I couldn't find them and that was very clear) and that it's "their new thing". I've been buying journals from Barnes and noble for five plus years and a moleskine every month or every other month from this store since I moved to the area two years ago. Their "new thing" managed to remove any last little bit of benefit they had over Amazon and within the span of a week lost a loyal customer of years. Their staff also has a habit of being rude and minimally helpful.
I like this Barnes & Noble. Big selection, clean, and quiet. Barnes & Noble does make you buy their membership so unless I really want the book, I will often find a book I want and just order it online. They can be a bit pricey.
